Boundaries
The MOMS Club Principles
That
women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment.
That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important
and fulfilling full time job.
That a family’s decision for a mother to stay home to
raise the children often involves considerable financial sacrifice.
That there is no one right way to raise children, but our
members have a common concern in raising their children in
a healthful way.
Club
Description
The
MOMS Club (Moms
Offering Moms Support) was founded in 1983 by an at-home mom in California.
Today the MOMS Club is an international, non-profit organization with
over 1000 chapters and 50,000 members worldwide.
The
Elkridge chapter has over 50 members and is growing every year.
In addition to the many outings and social opportunities the
MOMS Club has to offer, it also offers members a support network.
Child
Friendly Monthly Meetings
We usually have scheduled children's activity, club business, and then time for all the moms to socialize.
Our general meetings are a great opportunity to make new connections and get to know other members and their children.
For information,
send us an email. As with all MOMS Club functions, children
are always welcome.
During
these meetings you will learn about the latest club news, upcoming events
and how you can get involved. We usually have a scheduled children’s
activity, a guest speaker or a group discussion topic as well as our
supervised nursery. Our general meetings are a great opportunity
to socialize and get to know other members and their children.
So come to the next meeting!
Dust
Off That Daytimer!
Once
you join, you’ll see that there are many monthly activities and outings
for you and your children. These activities are coordinated to combat
the feeling of isolation and to enhance your children’s physical, emotional
and cultural development.
Some
of our past events have included picnics at local parks, Zoo trips,
Craft parties, Pool days, Bowling, Gymnastics and many more! Most
outings are of minimal cost or are free. There is definitely something
for everyone!
Get
Involved!
Even
if you choose not to participate in some of the activities, there is
still plenty to keep members busy. The club is always looking
for volunteers to help with several committees essential to keeping
the club running smoothly. It is a great way to sharpen old skills
or develop new ones!
Giving
To Our Community
Just
as important as the social activities and support groups, the MOMS Club
represents stay-at-home moms in the community by getting involved in
important child related issues, service projects and more. You
can be assured that the MOMS Club is constantly working to gain and
maintain respect for women who have chosen to stay at home with their
children. See details about service projects
here.
